Attn: Taxidermist We are offering a Commerical Tanning School
Learn to Tan your own customers hides and capes.
We will teach you the proper techniques of a Commerical
Tannery to give minimal shrinkage and maximum stretch.
For all of you Competition Taxidermists, we will Tan those Special Mounts for 75% extra.
The quality of a finished product is determined by the quality of the product when it is received. Grease burn, freezer burn, flesh and fat left on skin and old neglected hides will not come out of the system in the PREMIUM CONDITION due to the lack of rehydration which affects the process from shaving all the way down to staking and tumbling. The end result will be a product that is not as soft and supple as a hide or fur that was properly prepared and addressed in a timely fashion. *Due to the extra time to put out a quality tan we will charge extra for our time for:
-All tube skinned legs & tails will be split and charged $5.00 for each procedure. Do to the shaving and degreasing process.
-All cased and dorsle skinned will be 75% extra.
- Grease burned, meat and fat and old dried out (rock hard) hides will be charged at the shop rate of $30.00 per hour extra.
-If there is a dicard of cape or hide you will be charged a diposal fee.
*Furs $5.00 *Deer Capes/Hides $6.00 * Elk, Moose, Buffalo Capes $10.00 - Hides$15.00
- If your cape is for a pedistal mount you need to let us know. Tanning for a cape that's for a pedistal mount is will be extra. "If The Tannery is not informed, the cape will be cut to length and a $5.00 charge will be added".
